Jenny Magnusson baut Skulpturen und Objekte. Der Raum und der Ort sind der determinierende Faktor für die Realisierung ihrer Arbeiten. Sie arbeitet mit alltäglichen Materialien und Gegenständen. Das Material borgt oder ”stiehlt” sie und passt es der Ausstellungssituation an. Sie sucht nach einer präzisen Beziehung im Raum zwischen diesen geliehenen Objekten, die sie eher als Teile einer Skulptur denn als Dinge mit einer Geschichte begreift. Nicht als festgelegte Kompositionen, sondern nur im konkreten Raum und Zeitkontext werden sie zur Skulptur deklariert. Daher gibt es keine fertigen Arbeiten von Jenny Magnusson zu sehen. Sie baut ihre Arbeiten immer vor Ort- mit einer starken Beziehung zur Performance.
” – Nur in diesem Moment, nur an diesem speziellen Ort entscheide ich, dass dies nun eine Skulptur ist. Ein Werk. Die Arbeit entsteht am Ort. Im Moment. In der Situation. Die Arbeit entsteht in einer hin und her pendelnden Bewegung, aus der heraus sich neue Konstellationen ergeben.”
Für ERRATIKER wird sie eine Installation bauen, die sich lose auf Platos Höhlengleichnis bezieht. Sie wird die formale Bedeutung de Wortes erratisch als unvorhersehbar, verstreut und wandernd aufgreifen. Unvorhersehbar im Sinne einer Performance, bei der sie den Bezug zur Situation und zum Ort erspürt und ihre Kunst durchführt. Verstreut, indem sie Reststücke aus der Scheune von Benoit und Susken benutzt, um ihren künstlerischen Fußabdruck als ökologischen Beitrag zu minimieren. Sie wird wandern und das Material für ihre Installation von der Scheune durch die Landschaft zum Erratiker-Container, dem Ort ihrer Installation, tragen.

Jenny Magnusson works with sculpture and installations. The space and place are the determining factor for realization of work. She works with everyday material and thing. Material that she borrows, steals and appropriates to the exhibition space. She is seeking a precise relation between objects, things, material and their position inside the space. Magnusson’s working material is pieces of sculptures more than parts of a specific history. The materials are never fixed to a certain sculpture, only in that specific place during that particular time. The consequence of this working order is that there are no existing and ready sculptures and work to be seen. Magnusson always builds her installations on site, with a strong relation to performance.
“– Only during the moment, in that place, when I decide that this is now a sculpture. A piece. The work emerges in that place. At that moment. In the situation. In an oscillating movement where work emerges and dissolves in new constellations.”
For Erratiker she will do an installation loosely and inspired by the allegory of Plato’s cave. She will take the formal notion of the word erratic and be unpredictable, scattered and wandering. Unpredictable in the sense of performance, where she with here sensibility regarding to the site and place performs her art. Scattered in here use of the leftovers from former artists projects inside the barn of Benoit and Susken, in here contribution to minimise artistic ecological footprint. She will wander and carry the material for her installation through the landscape, from the barn to the site for the exhibition Erratiker.
